GROSS NATIONAL PRODUCT PRESENTED

“SON OF A BUSH” (or Hill To The Chief) – A POLITICAL COMEDY REVUE BY TWO

Original Run August 2006 through June 2007

Return Engagement: October 13 through December 31 2007

Gross National Product invaded Washington with a new comedy revue just in time for the fall 2006 elections in "Son of a Bush” on Aug. 24, 2006 at the Warehouse Theater in Washington, D.C. and continued through June 2007.And now they're back for a limited engagement October 13 through December 31 2007!

The show is a revue by two, featuring GNP’s comedy couple John Simmons and Christine Thompson, who have been in the funny business together since 1991. With targets ranging from the embattled president and the best Congress that lobbyists can buy, the show promises to be more fun than a barrelful of Dick Cheneys.

Hailed by the Washington Post as “always funny . . . turning the headlines into punch lines from year to year,” and by the Wall Street Journal as a “comedy feast,”  GNP turned its satirical sights on the hot issues and people of the day. These included not only the Prez, but Mr. and Mrs. Dick Cheney, Hillary Clinton, the esteemed senator from the state of New York City, plus North Korea’s Kim El Jung going nuclear in “The one and only official North Korean musical,” and last but not least big, big oil.

Topics ranged from Iraq, eavesdropping by the NSA (No Such Agency), the burning flag debate, illegal aliens, dropped calls and Katrina to ambien, motivational speakers, the queer and present danger, Supreme court law and disorder and Washington tourism, including the latest downtown addition: the NRA’s museum of tobacco, smoking and firearms. GNP’s answer to Regis Philbin was a new TV show: “Politicians Got Talent.”

GNP founder John Simmons and Christine Thompson are veterans of all five GNP national specials on PBS’s "UnOfficial Debates"  as well as numerous GNP revues over the year. These include "The First 100 Daze,"  "Man Without a Contra," "BushCapades," "Hell to the Chief," "A Newt World Order," "GNP: On the Dole," "All the President's Women," "Son of a Bush (the Halliburton years)," and this past winter and spring, "Son of a Bush (or Hill to the Chief)"

Reviews Of "Son Of A Bush": (Note: These reviews may indicate there is a 2 drink minimum at the Warehouse Theater show, however, this is NO LONGER the case.)
